Effective Date: June 4, 2026 Last Updated: June 4, 2026 (revised for AppsFlyer attribution and Report exports)
PART 1 OVERVIEW
This Privacy Policy explains how ChoreWheel collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares information when you use the app.
ChoreWheel is a family chore organizer for parents and guardians. Most family data stays on your device. We do not operate a ChoreWheel cloud account that syncs your chore lists, child profiles, or PIN to our servers.
PART 2 INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE
Depending on how you use the app, information you provide or generate may include:
During onboarding you may confirm acceptance of this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service before continuing.
PART 3 INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY
ChoreWheel uses AppsFlyer, a third-party attribution and analytics service, to measure marketing campaign performance and in-app purchase events. Depending on your choices and device settings, AppsFlyer may receive limited technical data such as device identifiers, app version, OS version, install/launch events, and purchase validation signals. If you allow App Tracking Transparency (ATT), the advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used for attribution; if you decline, attribution may rely on privacy-preserving methods permitted by Apple.
Limited technical information may also be processed automatically by Apple or iOS when you use Sign in with Apple, the App Store, StoreKit purchases, or system services. That can include device type, operating system version, app version, network connectivity for purchase requests, and purchase transaction metadata handled by Apple.
We do not collect precise location or contacts for core app features. Optional camera and photo library access is used only when you choose a custom chore icon. ChoreWheel does not require those permissions for its primary chore, wheel, and reward workflows.
PART 4 WHY WE USE INFORMATION
We use information to:
PART 5 PERMISSIONS
Notifications (optional). If you allow notifications, ChoreWheel may schedule local alerts on this device — for example, when a child marks a chore done, requests a swap, or asks to redeem a reward. You can change this permission anytime in iOS Settings. The app does not require notifications to store or display your family data.
App Tracking Transparency (optional). After onboarding, the app may ask whether ChoreWheel can track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising measurement. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Camera and Photo Library (optional). Used only when you add a custom icon to a chore.
PART 6 STORAGE AND SECURITY
Family data, PIN state, session flags, and shop records are stored in on-device app storage (for example, UserDefaults scoped to your Apple user identifier). Data remains on the device unless you delete it or remove the app.
Because data is local, it is not automatically backed up to a ChoreWheel server and may not appear on your other devices unless you manually recreate it or use device-level backup mechanisms provided by Apple.
We apply reasonable safeguards appropriate to a local-first app, including relying on iOS data protection and your device passcode or biometrics. No method of storage is completely secure; you are responsible for physical access to devices used in Kid Mode.
PART 7 HOW INFORMATION MAY BE SHARED
We do not sell or rent personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
Information may be shared only in these limited situations:
We do not transmit your chore lists or child profiles to a ChoreWheel-operated backend for routine sync or analytics.
PART 8 KID MODE AND HOUSEHOLD USE
Kid Mode is not a separate online child account. Children use the app on a device you control under profiles you create. You should supervise Kid Mode use and lock Parent Mode when finished.
Do not enter sensitive personal identifiers (such as full legal names combined with contact details, school IDs, or government IDs) unless you choose to do so for your own household records.
PART 9 YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information. Within the app you can:
Deleting the app from your device also removes locally stored ChoreWheel data unless a device backup restores it.
For other privacy requests, contact us using the details below.
PART 10 CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
ChoreWheel is designed for use by parents and legal guardians managing chores for children in their care. The parent/guardian is the primary account holder via Sign in with Apple.
Child profiles contain information you choose to enter (typically a first name or nickname). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through a standalone child login or public social features.
If you believe a child has provided information inappropriately, or if you are a parent who wants data removed from a device, contact us or use in-app deletion and device controls.
PART 11 THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The app relies on Apple platform services, including Sign in with Apple and StoreKit (App Store in-app purchases), and AppsFlyer for attribution and purchase analytics as described in Part 3. Those services may process limited information under their own privacy policies. Links in the app (such as Apple Support pages) are governed by the respective third-party policies.
PART 12 POLICY UPDATES
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective or last updated date and may provide notice within the app or through other appropriate channels when required.
